Intro to Slope

Measuring Steepness

Slope, simply put, is a measure of steepness. The larger the slope, the steeper the hill. Besides that, it is one of the GED® math test's favorite subjects. Make it your goal to become a slope expert.

STEP 1: WATCH THE VIRTUAL CLASS VIDEO AND TAKE NOTES

Make sure to note the following:

The slope of a line is a ratio of a line's vertical movement (or "rise") to a line's horizontal movement (or "run"). Start at one point on the line and move to another, counting how many units up and how many units over that you moved. Mathematicians commonly refer to slope as the rise over run
