The Quadratic Formula

Use the Formula

There are actually quite a few ways to solve quadratic equations (and you'll learn at least three in your college algebra classes), but for most GED® students, just learning the quadratic formula is enough. It always works, plus the formula is on the GED® formula sheet.

STEP 1: WATCH THE VIRTUAL CLASS VIDEO AND TAKE NOTES

Make sure to note the following:

The quadratic formula can be used to find x when a quadratic equation is in standard form.

STEP 2: COMPLETE ONE LEVEL OF PRACTICE

Solving Quadratic Equations with the Quadratic Formula for Beginners

Ease into the quadratic formula with straight-forward examples in standard form with rational solutions.

The Quadratic Formula Experienced

Start with standard form and rational solutions and work your way up to irrational solutions with this worksheet.

Up your quadratic game with this worksheet from Kuta Software. Practice with equations in non-standard form, and those with irrational solutions.
