Using the GED® Calculator

Meet Your New Bestie

For the vast majority of the GED® Math test you will have a calculator available to perform all of your calculations, leaving you to focus your brain power on the more critical skills of algebra and interpreting word problems.

STEP 1: WATCH THE VIRTUAL CLASS VIDEO AND TAKE NOTES

Make sure to note the following:

The TI-30XS Multiview Calculator will be available for you onscreen as you take your math, science, and social studies test. It is crucial that you are familiar with the calculator and how it works, especially since it functions very differently than your phone calculators. It can do fractions, exponents, roots, order of operations, percent, decimals, negatives, scientific notation and percentages for you, but only if you know how to use it!

Print out the testing center's guide to the calculator and watch the virtual class video.

Do you have a question about the class video, practice, or example problems? Post a picture to our FB group for immediate assistance. Be sure to include the lesson name and level in your post.

STEP 2: COMPLETE THE PRACTICE
