Frequency Focused Charts and Graphs
Again and Again
When a data set contains a lot of repeated data, it will frequently be presented using a frequency focused graph or chart such as a bar graph, dot plot, or frequency table. This can throw students who expect all data to show up in a list of numbers.
Frequency focused charts and graphs allow for a lot of data to be summarized quickly. Repeated data items or ranges of items are grouped together. Useful for saving space! However, this can make those types of charts and graphs a little tricky to interpret.
