STEP 1: Watch the Virtual Class Video and Take Notes

Do you remember that one way to conceptualize multiplication is as repeated addition? For example the expression 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 is equivalent, or equal, to the expression 2 x 5.

Similarly, exponents can be conceptualized as repeated multiplication. The expression 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 can be rewritten as an exponential expression.
